KALINA KOLOFF

Kalina’s role as the CEO is to oversee all operations at the CRJO, coordinating all efforts and projects between team members, councils, the General Manager’s Advisory Group (GMAG) and the CRJO Board.  Kalina is also the contact point for most advocacy conducted by the CRJO.

Areas of Assistance: Regional advocacy and project management.

ROBBERT MELS
Regional Waste and Resource Recovery Manager

Current Projects: Robbert is the Regional Waste and Resource Recovery Manager. He manages the delivery of the CRJO Regional Waste Strategy, working with the 10 NSW regional councils and the ACT Government. Projects include the yearly Household Chemical Collection, School Waste Education Program and grant funded programs like Bin Trim, Food Donation Education, Illegal Dumping Data improvement, Bushfire Related Green Waste Assessment project and Community Recycling Centre promotion.

Areas of Assistance: Anything relating to resource recovery and waste management, EPA funding opportunities, environmental management, interpretation of environmental guidelines or questions about Environmental Protection Licences.

NOEL SCHILLER
Contaminated Land Officer – Western Cluster

Current Project:  Noel is the Project Manager of the Council Regional Capacity Building Program for Contaminated Land Management in the Western Cluster of Councils. These include Hilltops Council, Yass Valley Council, Upper Lachlan Shire Council, Snowy Valleys Council, Snowy Monaro Regional Council and Wagga Wagga City Council.

Areas of Assistance:  Following the 2019 handover of Contaminated Land and Underground Petroleum Storage Regulation from NSW Government (EPA) to NSW Local Government, Noel has been transferring all knowledge, management systems, records, and information to the relevant Western Cluster Councils. This is being undertaken via regular environmental training workshops, on-site contamination inspections, the creation of updated registers and the interpretation of all legislation.

JESSICA FORDYCE
Regional Waste and Resource Recovery Officer

Jessica is the Regional Waste and Resource Recovery Officer for the EPA funded Food Donation Education grant.

Current Projects: The Food Donation Network aims to connect supermarkets which have excess food with community organisations who provide food relief services. The Councils targeted in the project include Eurobodalla Shire Council, Goulburn Mulwaree Council, Wingecarribee Shire Council, Snowy Valleys Council, Snowy Monaro Regional Council, Hilltops Council, Upper Lachlan Shire Council and Yass Valley Council.

Area of Assistance: This connection will increase food donation in regional communities, with the benefit of diverting food waste from regional landfills and alleviating issues associated with food insecurity.

VICTOR PEPPLE
Contaminated Land Officer – Eastern Cluster
